I have been very busy preparing for an upcoming trip to Washington. It seems like I have spent more time at the office than I have at home. I love my work, but I am not a fan of spending so much time away from my wife.

Private; Richard can read.Annabel has been taking a self-defense course. A few days ago, she came home with a black eye. Needless to say, I was not pleased. I tried to convince her to give up the class, but she would not be dissuaded. Of course, I have assured her in no uncertain terms that if it happens again, she will not have a choice in the matter. /Private

Thank goodness Richard's assistant has returned from her honeymoon at last. The man is impossible to put up with when he's forced to drink second-rate coffee.
You think I'm joking, but I swear he made no less than 4 employees cry while she was away. It was probably more than that, but I'm a busy man. I can't spend all my time keeping up with his affairs.
Private to AnnabelI was thinking we might go out for dinner this evening, just the three of us. Would you confirm with Elaine that a family dinner will not interfere with any plans she might have.
We might have her friends over to the house for dinner soon, now that I think of it. It's been awhile since we've seen Katherine and she's dating Richard's son now, if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps we should suggest a small dinner party to her soon, for the both of them and whomever else she'd like to invite. What do you think? /Private
